Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the paddy procurement center in Ganguru, Penamaluru constituency of Krishna district today. After inspecting the facility, he held a meeting with farmers to understand their concerns and later addressed the media.

CM Chandrababu announced that he would conduct surprise inspections at paddy procurement centers in the future. "We will keep a strict watch on where the gunny bags are going. We will curb illegal rice transportation and take a tough stance on smuggling and recycling of rice," he warned.

He assured that farmers could sell their paddy at any rice mill of their choice, depending on their convenience. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate the existence of middlemen and strict action would be taken against such practices.

The Chief Minister also highlighted plans to introduce the silos system soon to benefit farmers. He explained that this system would allow farmers to store their produce and sell it when prices are favorable, ensuring better returns.

He shared that last year, the MTU-1262 variety yielded 3,582 metric tons in Krishna district, whereas this year, the yield increased significantly to 32,859 metric tons. He noted that similar yield improvements were observed in other districts as well.
