Former Indian Cricketer Robin Uthappa Faces Arrest Warrant!
An arrest warrant has been issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa. Allegations have surfaced accusing him of mismanagement of employees’ provident fund (PF) contributions at his apparel company. The warrant, issued recently, pertains to irregularities in the handling of PF funds owed to the company’s employees.
Uthappa, who serves as the Director of Centarus Lifestyle Brands Private Limited in Bengaluru, is reportedly liable for unpaid PF contributions amounting to approximately ₹24 lakh. According to the Regional PF Commissioner Sadakshari Gopal Reddy, the company deducted ₹23,36,602 from employees’ salaries as provident fund contributions but failed to deposit the amounts into the respective employee accounts.
The warrant, issued on December 4, came to light only recently. Authorities have given Uthappa until December 27 to clear the pending dues; failure to comply will result in his arrest.
The 39-year-old former cricketer has played 59 international matches for India, amassing 1,183 runs, including seven half-centuries. Uthappa was also a popular figure in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he gained significant recognition for his performances.
