TTD to Construct Temples in State Capitals, Seeks National Status for SVIMS
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Governing Council meeting, held for six hours at the Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, has concluded. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu briefed the media on the key decisions taken during the meeting.
Chairman B.R. Naidu stated that efforts are underway to leverage AI technology to provide quicker access to Lord Venkateswara’s darshan for devotees. Demonstrations from several foreign AI technology companies are being reviewed, with two presentations assessed today. He further mentioned that after evaluating the concepts of other companies, a feasible approach will be implemented within the next two to three months.
He emphasized that several decisions were made in alignment with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's directives. The key resolutions included:
1-Construction of Lord Venkateswara Temples in Every State Capital
A decision to build temples in state capitals to promote accessibility and devotion.
2-National Status for SVIMS Hospital
A letter will be sent to the central government requesting national status for the TTD-managed Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati. National recognition would enable broader services for the underprivileged.
3-Recruitment of Necessary Medical Staff
Additional personnel will be appointed to meet the requirements of TTD’s medical department.
4-Contractual Appointments for Annadanam Department
Approval was given to hire 258 individuals on a contract basis to enhance the operations of the Annadanam department.
5-Canteen Contracts to Branded Hotel Chains
Tenders for canteens in Tirumala will be revised to enable contracts with reputed branded hotel chains.
6-Food Safety Department in Tirumala
To ensure the well-being of devotees, a food safety department will be established in Tirumala. Its officials will regularly inspect food quality in private hotels.
7-Financial Support for Traditional Educational Institutions
The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham’s traditional school in Tirupati will receive ₹2 crore through the SV Educational Trust.
8-Toilet Block Construction
Funds amounting to ₹3.36 crore were sanctioned for the construction of six toilet blocks.
9-Digital Technology for Devotee Feedback
TTD will collaborate with Andhra Pradesh Digital Corporation to collect feedback from pilgrims through digital platforms.
10-Mumbai Padmavathi Temple Lease Reduction
A letter will be sent to the Maharashtra government requesting a reduction in the ₹20 crore lease for the allocated land to construct the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Mumbai.
These decisions, B.R. Naidu noted, are aimed at enhancing the convenience, safety, and spiritual experience of devotees visiting Tirumala.
