Formula E-Car Case: Telangana High Court Extends KTR’s Interim Bail
In a significant development in the Formula E-Car race case, the Telangana High Court has extended the interim bail granted to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) for another day. On Friday, the court heard KTR’s quash petition filed in connection with the case.
Previously, the High Court had directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) not to arrest KTR until December 30, following his petition on December 21. The court later postponed the hearing to December 27. During today’s proceedings, the High Court issued an order extending KTR’s protection from arrest until December 31.
ACB Files Counter Petition
The ACB submitted a counter-petition in the High Court, requesting the withdrawal of the interim bail granted to KTR. In their plea, the ACB argued that granting bail or any relief to KTR at this stage could hinder the investigation. The ACB has sought permission to question KTR as part of the ongoing probe.
The court, taking note of the ACB’s arguments, deferred the matter to December 31 for further hearing.
