Perni Jayasudha, wife of YSRCP leader and former minister Perni Nani, appeared for police interrogation today in connection with a case involving missing ration rice from their private warehouse. Police had issued a notice to Jayasudha, listed as Accused No. 1 (A1) in the case, instructing her to attend the inquiry at 2 PM on January 1.

Following the notice, Jayasudha arrived at the Machilipatnam Police Station accompanied by her legal advisors in the car of the Machilipatnam Mayor. The inquiry was led by R.Pet Circle Inspector Yesu Babu and lasted approximately two hours. Police reportedly did not permit her legal team to be present during the questioning.

During the interrogation, police sought explanations for discrepancies in the stock and how the rice was moved out of the warehouse. Jayasudha claimed that discrepancies in the stock were due to issues with weighing machines and stated that they had already paid a penalty of ₹1.70 crores to address the matter.

However, police clarified that according to the memorandum of understanding (MoU), discrepancies in stock not only warrant penalties but also call for criminal charges.
