Recently, Deepti Jeevanji, an athlete from the Telugu states who earned a medal in the Para Olympics, was honored by Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi. Hailing from a small village in Warangal district, Deepti represented India on the international stage and raised the tricolor high. Recognizing her achievement, Chiranjeevi felicitated her and presented a cheque for INR 3 lakhs. Indian badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand shared his thoughts on the occasion.

"After Deepti Jeevanji won a medal in the Para Olympics held in Paris, I asked her what she wanted. She expressed a wish to meet Chiranjeevi. Later, when I met Chiranjeevi during an event, I told him about Deepti. He responded very generously and said that instead of her visiting him, he would come to our academy himself.

As promised, Chiranjeevi came to our academy, interacted with all the young athletes, and spent two hours with them. He spoke in a way that inspired each player present. On this occasion, he also handed over a cheque of INR 3 lakhs to Deepti. This gesture from Chiranjeevi has given us immense happiness. I see it as a great honor bestowed on our sports community by him. With such inspiration, I am sure many more athletes will reach greater heights," said Pullela Gopichand in a video message.
