Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that lands categorized as rocky terrains, barren plots, roadways, industrial zones, and real estate ventures will not be eligible for the "Rythu Bharosa" scheme. Following a three-hour-long cabinet meeting held today at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister clarified during a press briefing that only cultivable agricultural lands will qualify for the financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa without any conditions.

Revanth Reddy further explained that under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, financial assistance of ₹12,000 per acre per year would be provided for all cultivable lands. Additionally, families involved in agriculture but lacking land ownership will receive annual support of ₹12,000 under a separate initiative named "Indiramma Athmiya Bharosa."

Addressing the issue of mismanagement in the past, he noted that there were instances where lands allocated to industries had been misused, resulting in improper claims under the Rythu Bandhu scheme due to Dharani portal errors. He urged beneficiaries of such cases to come forward and disclose their details for rectification.
New Ration Cards for Eligible Families

The Chief Minister acknowledged that ration card distribution had become a persistent problem in recent years. He announced that the cabinet has decided to issue new ration cards to those who do not currently possess them. According to Revanth Reddy, the meeting focused on three primary issues, and the government has resolved to implement positive measures on all fronts. He added that the cabinet is committed to ensuring that these decisions reach the public effectively. He assured that all schemes will be operational from January 26, 2025.
First Press Meet of the New Year

Revanth Reddy began the press conference by wishing everyone a happy new year. He highlighted that this was the first media interaction of 2025. Emphasizing the government's commitment to supporting farmers, he expressed hopes for a prosperous year ahead for the agricultural community. "Agriculture is not a burden; it should be a celebration," he stated, reiterating his government's goal of promoting farming as a sustainable livelihood.
