BJP MP DK Aruna has criticized the Telangana government’s decision to name the Palamuru project after former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy, questioning his contributions to the project. Aruna expressed her opposition, stating, “We condemn the decision to name the Palamuru project after Jaipal Reddy. What did he do for this project?”

She further suggested that if necessary, the government could name projects in Nalgonda district after Jaipal Reddy, but questioned the appropriateness of naming a key project in the Mahabubnagar region after him. Highlighting her family’s sacrifices, Aruna said, “To make Palamuru green, my father, Chittem Narsi Reddy, fought many battles. Has the government forgotten his name?”

Directing her remarks towards Telangana Chief Minister, Aruna alleged that the CM Revanth Reddy lacked awareness of the history and contributions made by her family. “Even if Revanth Reddy doesn’t know history, don’t senior ministers remember my father’s services? My father and my brother laid down their lives for the welfare of this district,” she added.
