Actress and BJP leader Maadhavilatha posted an emotional video on social media, which quickly went viral. In the video, she broke down in tears, alleging that her self-respect had been attacked. Clarifying that she had never betrayed anyone, she accused certain individuals of deliberately targeting her with harsh words. “I have never played the sympathy card as a woman but have always fought like a man,” she stated. Despite the challenges, Maadhavilatha expressed determination to overcome them, asserting that she would not lose her courage.

“I tried hard, but I’m human too. I can’t find words to describe the pain caused by the attack on my self-respect. Every moment is filled with suffering—anger, frustration, agony, and sorrow—all at once overwhelming me. Many have tried to destroy my confidence in the past, repeating the same things over and over. I never expected anyone to step in for me. I did what I thought was right for society,” Maadhavilatha said in her post.

The actress went on to explain that her involvement in politics was solely for the sake of the party, the people, women, and the Hindu faith, without any selfish intent. She claimed she had not taken any financial benefits or betrayed anyone. “Despite being a woman, I never played the sympathy game. I have not taken advantage of women-centric laws. I have always fought like a man. I will get through these difficulties and will not lose my strength. Though I have my family and friends, it’s the love and support of my followers and well-wishers on social media that gives me strength,” she added, apologizing for sharing her personal grief with the public.

This video comes in the backdrop of a controversy sparked by comments made by former Tadipatri MLA and Municipal Chairman J.C. Prabhakar Reddy. Prabhakar Reddy made disparaging remarks against Maadhavilatha, calling her a “prostitute” and dismissing her as someone with no significant reputation. His remarks drew criticism from BJP leaders and several others, who expressed their outrage.

Following the backlash, Prabhakar Reddy issued an apology, stating that he regretted his remarks. However, Maadhavilatha responded to his apology, questioning its sincerity. “Is it enough to hurl insults and then simply apologize?” she asked, expressing dissatisfaction with the situation.
