MS Dhoni Shares How He Handles Female Fans with Sakshi by His Side

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, needs no introduction when it comes to his immense fan following. Despite announcing his retirement from international cricket, Dhoni's popularity has remained unwavering. Wherever he appears, fans surround him for selfies and autographs.

Among his fanbase, female fans hold a special place, often expressing their admiration for the cricket icon. But how does Dhoni handle situations when surrounded by female fans, especially when his wife, Sakshi Singh, is nearby? The cricketer himself recently addressed this intriguing question.

At a recent event, a journalist asked Dhoni, “What do you do when female fans surround you? Do you wish your wife were by your side in such situations?” In his characteristic humorous style, Dhoni responded, “She (Sakshi) is always by my side. Even if she is not physically present, I consider her to be with me. That’s the best way to stay safe.”

Dhoni and Sakshi tied the knot on July 4, 2010, and the couple has a daughter named Ziva. While Dhoni retired from international cricket, he continues to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under his leadership, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won the IPL title five times.

Last year, Dhoni stepped down as CSK's captain, handing over the reins to young player Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the 2025 IPL mega auction, CSK retained Dhoni as an "uncapped player" for just ₹4 crore, ensuring his continued association with the team.
