India’s Tricolor Missing from Pakistan’s Karachi Stadium, Netizens Slam PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come under criticism after a video surfaced on social media showing the National Stadium in Karachi displaying the flags of seven participating nations in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy—while the Indian flag was conspicuously absent.
Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy this year, but due to security concerns, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan. Instead, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to conduct the tournament in a hybrid model, with India playing its matches in Dubai.
Pakistan has expressed disappointment over India’s decision not to play in the country. Against this backdrop, PCB’s omission of the Indian flag from the stadium has sparked outrage among cricket fans. The video, widely shared on social media, shows that while the flags of the other seven participating nations are displayed at the venue, India’s tricolor is missing. Many netizens have accused Pakistan of deliberate hostility, calling this move a reflection of political tensions.
Although the exact reason for the missing Indian flag remains unclear, some speculate that it might be because India is playing all its matches in Dubai. The National Stadium in Karachi is set to host matches featuring New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and England during the tournament.
The ICC Champions Trophy will commence on February 19, with eight teams competing in two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, and the winners will face off in the final. Each team will play three league-stage matches. Team India is scheduled to play its matches on February 20, February 23, and March 1 against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, respectively.
