European Union grants membership to Ukraine
New Delhi: In a big respite to war-hit Ukraine, the European Union has taken a sensational decision and granted membership to the war-ravaged country.
The war waged by Russia has shattered Ukraine. It is not known when the war would end and what would be the fate of the small country. However, Ukraine now can withstand any post-war catastrophic situation, thanks to European Union. The EU Parliament passed a resolution to this effect some time ago.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted an application already urging the EU to grant membership for his country. After seeing this application, the EU met urgently and invited Gelenskyy to the meeting.
In the meeting, he received a standing ovation for his emotional speech. The EU, which immediately reviewed Ukraine's application, made a key announcement that it is granting membership to Ukraine in the EU.
