AP govt constituted panel on CPS, not right to give call to siege CMO: Botsa

Amaravati, April 25: Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday said that the Andhra Pradesh had constituted a panel to study possibilities and difficulties in scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). “The committee will submit its report very soon to the state government,” he mentioned.

Talking to reporters, he expressed anger over government teachers under the banner of UTF for giving a call to siege CMO. “The YSRCP government is committed to implement the CPS for the benefit of employees and teachers,” he stated.

To a question, Botsa said that the media will blame the AP government if the protest turns violent and causes inconvenience to the people. “Jagan government has no thoughts to keep the CPS issue aside and working with transparency to find a solution,” he clarified. This time, security is tightened in Vijayawada and Mangalagiri as thousands of employees have participated in ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ organised in February 2022 against pay revision, leading to massive traffic jam.
