Somu Veerraju expresses anger over police for stopping his vehicle

East Godavari, June 8: Andhra Pradesh BJP president Somu Veerraju expressed anger over police for stopping his vehicle at Jonnada on Wednesday for 30 minutes while he was proceeding to Amalapuram to console victims of violence and kin of those on whom police registered cases on the charges of arson.

The BJP chief entered into an argument with a police official when he told him that he has no permission for Amalapuram visit. Later, he spoke with Konaseema district SP over mobile and asked him as to why police are stopping his vehicle when he had already informed East Godavari district SP regarding his visit to Amalapuram. “I am not going to Amalapuram to conduct a meeting or to make provoking statements,” he told SP.

However, the police gave nod to the BJP leader to visit Ravulapalem for consoling family members of BJP Mahila Morcha East Godavari district president Nandam Srilakshmi. Local BJP leaders were present.
