Hyd: CM KCR arrives from Warangal, casts vote in presidential elections
Hyderabad, July 18: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) straight away arrived here from Warangal on Monday and exercised his franchise in presidential elections at a polling centre arranged in the Legislative Assembly’s committee hall.
Along with CM, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and TRS MLAs from combined Warangal district have cast their votes. In all, 116 MLAs from the total of 119 have exercised their franchise.
Minister Gangula Kamalakar, who tested positive for coronavirus, has decided to cast vote in the last minute. Congress MLA Jagga Reddy and Chennamaneni Ramesh, TRS MLA from Vemulawada, are yet to exercise their franchise.
KCR decided to support UPA presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha. He instructed all TRS MLAs and MPs to cast their vote to Sinha. The TRS gave a rousing welcome to Sinha by organising a bike rally in Hyderabad on July 2. KCR introduced his son K. Taraka Rama Rao, ministers, TRS MLAs and MPs to Sinha.
