Heavy rain batters Hyd, high alert sounded in Telangana for next two days
Hyderabad, July 22: Several localities in Hyderabad received heavy rainfall from early morning on Friday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Film Nagar, Manikonda, Gachibowli, Lingampalli, Amberpet, Ramanthapur, Madhapur, Nampally, Abids, Koti, Uppal, Secunderabad and some more colonies received rains. Normal life paralysed and water entered into low-lying areas.
The IMD forecasted heavy rains in Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Sangareddy districts in the next 24 hours due to depression. High alert was sounded to majority districts in Telangana for next two days. Even heavy downpour is predicted in coastal and Rayalaseema districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Already, districts close to Godavari river in Telugu states have adversely affected because of recent floods. The IMD warned people to be cautious in the wake of heavy rains. Bhadrachalam, temple town, completely submerged in floodwater.
