Bhogapuram international airport to get Centre’s nod within one week: MP Vijayasai
Delhi, August 26: Emerging from a meeting with a committee of secretaries led by Union Finance Minister TV Somanathan, YSRCP Parliamentary Party leader and MP V. Vijayasai Reddy on Thursday said that the Central government agreed to give ‘No Objection Certificate’ to greenfield international airport coming up at Bhogapuram of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh within one week.
Talking to reporters, he stated that it was a follow-up meeting held at the secretary-level to resolve various issues after Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Centre agreed to release ad-hoc funds as suggested by the CM for speeding up Polavaram completion,” he mentioned.
The MP further said that the AP government requested the Centre to allocate iron ore mines to Kadapa steel plant and extend cooperation for setting up six government medical colleges in newly formed districts. The meeting also discussed Rs 6,600 crore dues from Telangana power utilities. Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy was also present.
