NIrmala Sitharaman lashes out at CM KCR for pushing Telangana into a debt trap
New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao launched a tirade against the Centre. He criticised that the rupee has fallen badly under the Modi government like never before, debts and prices have gone up.
In this order, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a counter to CM KCR. She alleged that KCR is responsible for pushing the profitable state of Telangana into debt. On Thursday, she spoke to the media.
Telangana has been pushed into debt by KCR. For every child in the state, there is Rs 1.25 lakh debt. Even a newborn child in Telangana has to pay a debt of Rs 1 lakh. KCR was indulging in mud-slinging even though the Centre is allocating funds. He is making false propaganda against the Centre to create fear among the people.
“Moreover, KCR is going around the country saying that he is the Prime Minister. The Centre has granted Rs 20,000 crore; officials had come for a survey of the Employment Guarantee Scheme. If you do not spend the money sent by us, the authorities will investigate. It is the State government's responsibility to answer. Every Central government scheme should be implemented in totality,” the Finance Minister countered KCR's comments by saying that the Centre has the power to inquire about State’s debts.
