Pothina Mahesh Bids Farewell to Janasena After Failing to Secure Ticket

Pothina Mahesh, a leader of Janasena, has resigned from the party after not being given the ticket to contest in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the party after failing to secure the Vijayawada West seat. Despite efforts by Janasena's chief, Pawan Kalyan, to appease him, Pothina Mahesh did not relent and announced his resignation. He has recently sent his resignation letter to Pawan Kalyan. Speaking to the media, Pothina mentioned that he grew weary waiting for the party ticket and felt it pointless to continue in Janasena after it became clear he would not get the ticket.

Pothina stated he would consult with his followers to decide on his future course of action. He has not clarified whether he will join another party or contest as an independent candidate. He promised to reveal more details in a day or two.

As the elections approach, political defections are on the rise in Andhra Pradesh, with leaders who failed to secure tickets looking towards other parties that promise them candidature.
