Heavy Rainfall Causes Chaos in Hyderabad
On Monday evening, Hyderabad experienced sudden heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. The heavy rain and winds caused tree branches to break in several locations. Areas affected by the heavy rain include Gachibowli, Madhapur, Rayadurgam, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Lakdikapul, Ameerpet, Rajendranagar, Attapur, SR Nagar, Erragadda, Yusufguda, Langar Houz, Gandipet, and Shivrampally. Additionally, heavy rain was reported in Panjagutta, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Secunderabad, Gachibowli, Manikonda, Shaikpet, Kondapur, and Hitech City.
The sudden downpour resulted in flooding on roads, causing difficulties for commuters and leading to traffic jams in various areas. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) stated that Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel are working to clear the floodwater.
