Mega Brother Nagababu to Join Rajya Sabha?

Jana Sena Party leader and Mega Brother Nagababu is reportedly set to enter the Rajya Sabha. This speculation follows the resignation of three YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Rajya Sabha members—Mopidevi Venkataramana, Beeda Mastan Rao, and R. Krishnaiah—for various reasons, leading to unavoidable elections.

With elections scheduled next month, sources indicate that Nagababu is being considered as Jana Sena's candidate for the upper house. Reports suggest clarity on this decision emerged during Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan’s recent visit to Delhi.

The nomination process begins on December 3 and closes on December 10, with withdrawals permitted until December 13. Voting is set for December 20, and results will be announced on the same day.

Given the ruling alliance’s strong majority in Andhra Pradesh, the three vacant Rajya Sabha seats are likely to go to the alliance candidates. A minimum of 25 MLA votes is required for a candidate to win a Rajya Sabha seat. As the YSRCP currently has only 11 MLAs eligible to support candidates, their participation in the elections seems improbable.
