Wrong Call Turns Fatal: Woman Arrested in SI Harish Suicide Case

In the Mulugu district of Telangana, police arrested a young woman yesterday in connection with the suicide of Wazeedu Sub-Inspector (SI) Rudrarapu Harish. After investigation, police confirmed that harassment by the woman led to Harish's death. Authorities had been searching for her for several days. According to the police, she pressured Harish to marry her and allegedly threatened him with severe consequences, which ultimately drove him to take his own life.

On December 2, Harish ended his life by shooting himself with his service revolver near a resort close to Mullekattu Bridge in Wajeedu Mandal. The investigation unearthed several crucial details about the incident.

The accused, Banothu Anasurya alias Anusha, hails from Dudiyatanda in Chilkur Mandal, Suryapet district, and works as a staff administrator at a local college. Seven months ago, she reportedly got acquainted with SI Harish through a wrong phone call. The acquaintance soon developed into a close relationship.

Believing that marrying Harish would provide her with stability in life, she frequently contacted him and pressed for marriage. When he declined, she allegedly accused him of exploiting her and threatened to report the matter to higher officials and the media. Harish, distressed by her continuous pressure and threats, took his own life.

Police arrested Anusha and remanded her to custody.
