AP Government Takes Key Step Towards Free Bus Scheme Implementation

During the Andhra Pradesh elections, the NDA alliance promised several major welfare initiatives, one of which was a free bus travel scheme for women. This proposal generated significant anticipation among women, who eagerly awaited its implementation. The state government has now made a key decision regarding this scheme.

To evaluate the modalities and feasibility of implementing the scheme, the government has constituted a cabinet subcommittee. Official orders issued today confirmed the formation of this subcommittee, which will comprise three ministers representing the Transport, Women and Child Welfare, and Home Departments.

The committee has been tasked with studying how similar schemes are being implemented in other states, analyzing their policies and procedures, and recommending the most effective implementation strategy for Andhra Pradesh. The orders mandate the committee to submit its report and suggestions as early as possible.

The scheme’s implementation in Andhra Pradesh will be based on the subcommittee’s recommendations.
