No More Benefit Shows After Pushpa-2: Minister Komatireddy Declares

Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy visited young Sritej at the hospital this evening, who was severely injured during a stampede at Sandhya Theatre. Speaking to the media outside the hospital, the minister explained that Revathi, along with her husband and son, had gone to watch the premiere show of Pushpa-2. The arrival of actor Allu Arjun caused a crowd surge, leading to chaos.

“Revathi and her son were trampled during the commotion. While Revathi lost her life, her son, Sritej, sustained severe injuries,” the minister stated. Komatireddy alleged that despite the tragic situation, neither the actor nor the film's producers showed any concern. Instead, they proceeded to watch the movie from the theatre balcony.

The minister further criticized the behavior of the film's team: “Even after being advised by the ACP to leave due to the deteriorating situation outside, the actor ignored the warning. Ultimately, the DCP had to intervene firmly. Yet, they watched the entire movie and later left, waving to fans from the rooftop of their vehicle.”

Minister Komatireddy criticized the filmmakers, stating that neither the actor nor the producer showed concern for the victims. Despite the chaos outside, they proceeded to watch the film. The minister alleged that the filmmakers disregarded police advice and continued with the premiere event.

That day, the film crew arrived at the theater without police permission. Along with the hero's convoy, several bouncers also came to the theater. The bouncers pushed the audience aside. From now on, we will review the matter of granting permission for premiere shows of films. Regardless of the budget spent on a movie, we will make a cautious decision regarding ticket price hikes.

"Is it related to the country's independence? Or to the Telangana movement? Or is it a film that delivers a message to the public about drugs or other issues? These factors will be considered, and even then, we will only allow ticket price hikes nominally. There is no question of permitting benefit shows. All such practices are being stopped with Pushpa 2. If Pushpa 2 is good, everyone can watch it... I have watched it too.

From now on, apart from films about deities, historical events, kings, or the Telangana movement, I have decided not to watch other Telugu films. Why? Because instead of spending three and a half hours watching a film, I can accomplish many things. Moreover, after watching such films, our youth might also get spoiled," commented Minister Komatireddy.
