DCP Condemns ACP’s Unauthorized Press Meet Targeting Allu Arjun
Central Zone DCP Akash Yadav announced that disciplinary action would be taken against ACP Pabbathi Vishnu Murthy for holding a press conference and making critical remarks against actor Allu Arjun without prior permission. “Vishnu Murthy is already under suspension. He conducted a press meet without our approval, violating regulations. Strict disciplinary measures will be implemented against him. Such behavior is unacceptable, and we disapprove of his comments on Allu Arjun,” stated the DCP.
The controversy began when ACP Vishnu Murthy made sharp criticisms against the actor during a press conference held at Hyderabad Press Club. He accused a “money-driven actor” of disrespecting the police. Questioning the propriety of Allu Arjun’s actions, Vishnu Murthy said, “How can an actor, who is an accused in a case, conduct a press meet?”
Murthy further alleged that certain actors and political leaders speak disparagingly about the police at their convenience. “It’s unacceptable to act as if they are above the law. Regarding the Sandhya Theater incident, someone lost their life, yet he left without showing any concern,” he remarked. He also issued a warning, stating, “I’ll ensure not a single officer approaches you. Think about how you’ll manage to step outside.”
ACP Vishnu Murthy has a controversial past, having been suspended earlier during his tenure with the Nizamabad Task Force on allegations of corruption. Notably, he was not part of the team investigating the Allu Arjun case, raising questions about the authority under which he spoke on the matter. Police higher-ups are yet to clarify his role and the circumstances behind the press conference.
