Harish Rao Slams Revanth Reddy for Alleged Intimidation of Filmmakers

Senior BRS MLA Harish Rao expressed strong disapproval of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s alleged approach of using intimidation tactics towards the film industry. He stated that creating fear among filmmakers to achieve personal or political goals is inappropriate.

Harish Rao’s comments came in the wake of a tragic incident during the premiere of the movie Pushpa-2 at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. The incident resulted in a stampede that claimed the life of a woman named Revathi and left her son Sritej injured. Sritej is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.

Harish Rao, along with other BRS leaders, visited the hospital to offer condolences and support to Sritej and his family. Speaking to the media afterward, Harish Rao said, “Doctors at KIMS have assured us that Sritej is receiving the best medical care and will recover soon. We pray for his quick recovery.” He added that the Party chief and the former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has instructed officials to provide moral support to Sritej’s father, Bhaskar, during this difficult time. “We pray for Revathi’s soul to rest in peace,” he said.

Harish Rao criticized the state government for allegedly politicizing the incident and raised questions about the Chief Minister's priorities. “Why hasn’t the Chief Minister visited the families of those who have died in Gurukuls or hostels? Why hasn’t he addressed the issue of a former sarpanch who recently died by suicide? Why hasn’t his brother, who is allegedly responsible, been arrested?” Harish Rao questioned.

He pointed out the disparity in actions, stating, “The law should be equal for everyone. The Chief Minister talks about justice and fairness, but what actions have been taken against his own family members?”
