Replace Bouquets with Knowledge: Telangana Governor’s Call for Book Gifts

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has urged people to gift meaningful books instead of bouquets during auspicious events and celebrations. He made this suggestion while visiting the Hyderabad Book Fair at NTR Stadium. During his address, he emphasized the boundless knowledge contained in books and encouraged people to read them with deep focus, akin to savoring every detail.

The Governor stated that printed books offer a unique charm that surpasses e-books. He remarked that reading a book feels like engaging in a direct conversation with the author. Highlighting the importance of books for gaining insights about the world, he pointed out that audiobooks are now accessible for those who are illiterate or have visual impairments.

He further encouraged elders to motivate today’s youth to cultivate a reading habit and reconnect with books. The Hyderabad Book Fair, which has seen enthusiastic participation, is set to conclude tomorrow.
