Former Minister Jawahar’s House Robbed

A theft occurred at the residence of former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader K.S. Jawahar in Kovvur town. Unknown miscreants entered the house and stole valuable items. K.S. Jawahar, who had been appointed in-charge of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming meeting, left for Gudivada ten days ago. Three days ago, his wife and children also left for their native village, Tiruvuru.
On Saturday, V.V. Raju, an associate of K.S. Jawahar, visited the residence to water the plants. Noticing that the back door of the house was open, he became suspicious. Upon inspection, he found that the household items were scattered inside the house. He immediately informed both the local police and K.S. Jawahar.
DSP G. Devakumar and Town CI P. Vishwam arrived at the scene and examined the premises. Upon confirmation of the break-in, K.S. Jawahar’s wife Usha and son Kothapalli Ashish Lal rushed to Kovvur. Preliminary reports indicate that two mobile phones, expensive watches, a television, ₹45,000 in cash, and silver items were stolen. A clues team and a dog squad from Rajahmundry were brought in to collect fingerprints from the house. Based on a complaint lodged by K.S. Jawahar, police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
