Indian Student Involved in High-Profile Fraud in America!
An Indian student pursuing higher education in the United States was arrested by local authorities for engaging in fraudulent activities. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) in North Carolina arrested 21-year-old Kishan Kumar Singh, an Indian national, after he allegedly attempted to swindle money from an elderly woman by impersonating a law enforcement officer.

According to officials, the incident came to light when a 78-year-old woman from the Stokesdale area began receiving threatening phone calls from unidentified individuals. The callers introduced themselves as federal agents and deputies, and misled the woman into believing that her bank accounts were connected to criminal activities in another state. They pressured her to immediately withdraw a large sum of cash and hand it over "for safekeeping."

Kishan Kumar Singh then visited the woman's home, pretending to be a federal agent, to collect the money. However, the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, which had already been alerted, intervened and arrested Singh in the act.

Investigations revealed that Singh had been residing in the United States since 2024 on a student visa and was living near Cincinnati, Ohio. Authorities confirmed his direct involvement in the scam. Guilford County Sheriff Danny H. Rogers also verified Singh's arrest.

If found guilty, Kishan Kumar Singh could face serious legal consequences. Experts noted that under American law, he may not only have his visa revoked but also risk deportation. The incident is likely to affect perceptions of Indian students studying in the United States.
