Defence Secretary Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The meeting reportedly focused on India’s strategic and military response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the country’s current defence preparedness.

According to reliable sources, the Defence Secretary briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the prevailing security situation, particularly regarding military arrangements along the western border. Discussions also reportedly included strategies for confronting simultaneous multi-domain threats and ensuring uninterrupted defence logistics.

Over the past week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held a series of meetings with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as other senior defence officials.

Coinciding with today’s meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin telephoned Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strongly condemn the Pahalgam attack. He expressed Russia’s full support for India in its fight against terrorism.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Japanese Defence Minister General Nakatani. Japan reiterated its commitment to assist India in addressing regional security challenges, including counter-terrorism efforts.

In a parallel development, the Indian Army stated that Pakistani forces have continued to violate the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control for the past 11 days. Provocative actions were reportedly carried out last night in several areas, including Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, and Rajouri.
