Does the Coalition Have Any Love for Anantapur?: Anchor Shyamala
Anchor Shyamala, the official spokesperson of the YSR Congress Party, demanded that both the central and state governments immediately release the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) funds owed to the Rural Development Trust (RDT), a non-profit organization that has been providing extensive services in Anantapur district for many years. She alleged that RDT is currently grappling with a severe financial crisis, and accused the governments of displaying apathy towards its plight.

Responding on the matter, Shyamala stated, “RDT has been serving the people of Anantapur like a mother for several years. Today, it is facing a dire financial crisis, while the central and state governments stand by with folded hands, showing no concern.” She further remarked, “It is deplorable that certain individuals are engaging in politics over an organization like RDT, which has rendered selfless service without discrimination of caste, religion, or region. What does it indicate when those who do not serve are left alone, and those who tirelessly serve are targeted?”

Shyamala expressed anguish over the persistent neglect of the Rayalaseema region, saying, “Rayalaseema has always faced injustice. As the saying goes, unless one asks, even a mother does not serve food—Rayalaseema neither receives what it deserves nor sees anything new coming its way.” She warned that one cannot remain silent when conspiracies are being orchestrated against a life-sustaining service organization like RDT.

She questioned the current coalition government, asking, “Does this government have any concern for Anantapur district or Rayalaseema at all?” Shyamala also asked why, despite being in alliance with the central government, there has not been a single word spoken about the halted RDT funds. She reiterated her demand for the immediate release of FCRA funds to RDT and stated that a bike rally was held in Kalyandurg, Anantapur district on the same day to highlight the issue. Following the rally, she submitted a petition with the demands to the local Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). She expressed concern that if the funds are not released, it would severely disrupt RDT’s services.
