Nara Lokesh Thanks Pawan Kalyan and Karnataka for Sending Kumki Elephants
Minister Nara Lokesh responded via Twitter to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s initiative to resolve the troubles of farmer brothers in the erstwhile Chittoor district. He tweeted, “Congratulations to Pawan Anna,” acknowledging the efforts taken.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made a special effort to bring Kumki elephants from Karnataka to address the damage caused by wild elephants to crops and property in Andhra Pradesh. Minister Nara Lokesh expressed gratitude to both Pawan Kalyan and the Karnataka government, which promptly provided the elephants upon request.

Nara Lokesh recalled that during the Yuvagalam padayatra, farmers from the erstwhile Chittoor district had brought this issue to his attention. He stated that the farmer brothers had expressed their anguish over the destruction caused by wild elephants, which was leading to severe crop losses.

In response, Pawan Kalyan proactively took up the issue and held discussions with the Karnataka government to find a solution. He persuaded them to send Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh to drive away the wild elephant herds. It is known that the Karnataka government has since handed over four Kumki elephants for this purpose.
