Ram Gopal Varma Makes Strong Remarks Against the Censor Board

Renowned Tollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has once again made sensational remarks in his trademark style. Criticizing the use of vulgar language in films and the functioning of the Censor Board, Ram Gopal Varma expressed his views candidly during a recent podcast appearance.
“Many argue that vulgarity should not be present in films, and the Censor Board continues to impose several restrictions. It’s as if only films are responsible for such content,” said Ram Gopal Varma. Highlighting what he sees as hypocrisy, he stated, “Nowadays, everyone has smartphones. People can easily watch pornographic videos and extremely violent content on their phones. In such a scenario, how is it justifiable to say that films made for entertainment should not include certain content or depictions? If it is not wrong to watch these on a phone, then why is it wrong to see vulgarity on the big screen? Imposing such restrictions is truly illogical,” he asserted.
Strongly criticizing the functioning of the Censor Board, Ram Gopal Varma remarked, “The Censor Board is long expired. It is a stupid thing.” Known for his directness and controversial comments, this time Ram Gopal Varma’s criticism of the Censor Board itself has drawn particular attention. It remains to be seen how the Censor Board will respond to these remarks.
