Instagram Queen Amandeep Kaur Arrested

Amandeep Kaur, a former head constable with Punjab Police who gained fame on social media as the "Instagram Queen" and was popularly known as the "Thar Wali Constable" for her extravagant lifestyle, has once again landed in legal trouble. Already dismissed from service following her arrest in a heroin case, she has now been arrested in connection with possessing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

According to details disclosed by the Vigilance Bureau, Amandeep Kaur is alleged to have amassed assets worth approximately ₹1.5 crore. These include a house, several vehicles, and various high-end luxury items. A case has been registered against her, and she has been taken into custody for further investigation into the sources of her wealth.

Earlier in April this year, Amandeep Kaur was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The arrest followed a routine joint inspection conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and local police near the Badal Flyover in Bathinda, during which 17.71 grams of heroin were reportedly recovered from her Thar SUV. The vehicle was also seized by the authorities.

While still serving as a police officer, Amandeep Kaur frequently posted Instagram reels in uniform—an act that clearly violated the Punjab Police’s social media conduct guidelines. The department had banned filming or sharing videos in uniform to protect the dignity of the police service and prevent misuse of official symbols.

Despite these restrictions, Amandeep Kaur became a social media sensation due to her lavish lifestyle. She regularly posed with branded handbags and designer outfits, often dressing her pet Shih Tzu dog in expensive clothing. Her videos frequently featured Punjabi music, including lyrics that mocked the police system or contained controversial content. In one viral reel, she stood in uniform next to her Thar as a Punjabi song played in the background with lyrics translating to: “She’s fond of four-by-fours, reverses the Thar without looking back. Keeps bullets in her MK bag, the girl burns like a flame.”

During her 14-year service career, Amandeep Kaur was reportedly subjected to frequent transfers due to disciplinary violations and repeated complaints related to the misuse of social media. Once regarded as a local celebrity because of her Instagram presence, her digital footprint has now become a critical piece of evidence in ongoing investigations into her assets and past conduct.
