Kavitha Strongly Responds to New Party Rumours, Slams Newspaper Report

Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) representing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has issued a stern response to widespread rumours on social media suggesting that she is planning to launch a new political party. Dismissing these speculations as baseless, Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed her displeasure by posting a clipping of a newspaper article on her X (formerly Twitter) account and questioned the journalistic integrity of the publication.
“Is this journalism or sadism—to publish such a report without even reaching out to me?” Kalvakuntla Kavitha asked in her post, which has since gone viral.
Over the past few months, Kalvakuntla Kavitha has been actively strengthening the Telangana Jagruthi organisation. The sequential announcements of affiliated wings and the expansion of organisational activities led to a surge in speculation that she was laying the groundwork for a new political party.
Following the BRS silver jubilee celebrations held in Warangal, Kavitha reportedly wrote a letter to the party’s president and her father, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Later, just before departing for a trip to the United States, she also announced appointments to various Telangana Jagruthi affiliate organisations. These developments further fueled the rumours of her intent to establish a new political formation.
Certain social media narratives went so far as to claim that even the name of the supposed party had been finalised and that discussions between Kavitha and emissaries sent by K. Chandrashekar Rao had failed. Widespread reports also alleged that Kavitha was preparing to formally launch the new party on June 2, Telangana Formation Day.
Kalvakuntla Kavitha has categorically denied all these reports, stating they are unfounded and published without her input. She conveyed strong dissatisfaction over the dissemination of unverified information and reiterated that she had not been consulted by the media outlet before the article was published.
