TDP’s Kadapa Mahanadu Passes Key Political Resolution for Andhra's Future
In a significant development marking the 43rd anniversary of its journey, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) presented a political resolution during the 2025 Mahanadu held in Kadapa on Wednesday. The resolution, introduced by Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, was approved by the party leaders. It called for rededication to the reconstruction of the state and public welfare, inspired by the ideals of the party’s founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and under the guidance of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The resolution emphasized innovation in party policies rooted in the principle “Society is the temple, and the people are the gods,” and adopted six major declarations during the Mahanadu.

The resolution recalled that Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao founded the party to uphold the self-respect of Telugu people and, within nine months, formed a non-Congress government. It stated that the TDP pioneered revolutionary welfare schemes such as rice at ₹2 per kilogram, permanent housing, and property rights for women, thereby ensuring political and social recognition for the underprivileged sections of society. While Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao led social reforms, Nara Chandrababu Naidu was credited for steering the state towards progress through economic development, adoption of technology, and governance reforms. The resolution noted that post the 2014 bifurcation, he successfully put the state back on track and prioritized decentralization of development.

Highlighting the achievements of the NDA coalition government post the 2024 elections, the resolution stated that promises such as increasing social pensions to ₹4,000, providing three free gas cylinders annually to women, teacher appointments through DSC, and employment opportunities for unemployed youth were being effectively implemented. It added that government services were being brought closer to the public through initiatives like “Mana Mitra – WhatsApp Governance.” According to the resolution, ₹8.5 lakh crore in investments and six lakh job opportunities had been attracted within the first year of governance.

The resolution strongly criticized the previous governance under the YSR Congress Party. It alleged that the demolition of Praja Vedika marked the beginning of a destructive phase that harmed projects like Amaravati and Polavaram and drove away industrialists. It claimed that illegal cases and attacks caused suffering to all communities and reported attacks on temples. The resolution stated that Nara Chandrababu Naidu was subjected to vindictive actions and was unlawfully imprisoned for 53 days.

The resolution praised the “Yuvagalam” padayatra undertaken by youth leader Nara Lokesh for spreading public awareness over its 3,132-kilometer journey, where he engaged with citizens and reassured them. It also commended the “Nijam Gelavali” yatra led by Nara Bhuvaneshwari during Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest for boosting morale within the party and providing financial support to families of deceased party workers.

Describing TDP as a regionally rooted party with a national outlook, the resolution emphasized its commitment to national interests. It recalled the party’s key role in the formation of the National Front, United Front, and NDA governments. Condemning the terrorist attack in Kashmir, it conveyed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed full support for the central government’s actions to eradicate terrorism. The resolution noted that the NDA government had extended a compensation of ₹50 lakh to the family of slain soldier Muralinaik from Sri Sathya Sai district.

Focusing on the party’s future, the resolution passed six declarations during the Kadapa Mahanadu with the goal of functioning as an unchallenged force for the next 40 years. These declarations are:

The Worker is the Leader

Yuvagalam

Social Justice – Progress for the Poor

Women’s Empowerment

Support for Farmers

Global Recognition for the Telugu People

The resolution called upon every party worker to commit to achieving the stated goals and to walk alongside Nara Chandrababu Naidu in realizing the “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047.” It extended gratitude to the voters who enabled a historic victory in the 2024 elections, the NRIs, youth, women, and all sections of society who contributed to the coalition’s success. It also affirmed that greater prominence would be given to youth within the party.
