SC Directs Prabhakar Rao to Return in 3 Days, Grants Interim Bail

In a significant development in the phone tapping case that caused a major stir in Telangana, the Supreme Court of India today granted temporary relief to senior Indian Police Service officer and former chief of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), T. Prabhakar Rao, who is facing primary allegations in the case.
The bench comprising Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma issued an interim order in response to the anticipatory bail petition filed by T. Prabhakar Rao, who is the prime accused (A1) in the case. The court granted him temporary anticipatory bail and laid down specific conditions for his cooperation with the investigation.
The Supreme Court directed T. Prabhakar Rao to return to India within three days. Upon his arrival, he has been ordered to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The court further instructed that his passport be issued to facilitate his return to India.
Additionally, the apex court issued clear instructions to the Telangana State Government not to initiate any harsh or coercive measures against T. Prabhakar Rao during this period. The court emphasized that he must return to the country within the stipulated three-day period.
