Telangana Government Honors Six Film Icons with New Awards

The Government of Telangana has instituted a new set of film awards in addition to the Gaddar Awards, naming them after six distinguished personalities from the film industry. The jury committee for the Gaddar Awards announced these honours on Friday.

Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been selected for the NTR National Film Award. The Paidipati Jairaj Film Award will be conferred on renowned director Mani Ratnam. Director Sukumar has been chosen for the B. N. Reddy Film Award. The Nagireddy-Chakrapani Film Award will go to Atluri Poornachandra Rao. Actor Vijay Deverakonda has been named the recipient of the Kantha Rao Film Award. Noted writer Yandamoori Veerendranath will receive the Raghupathi Venkaiah Film Award.

These announcements were made by the jury chairman Murali Mohan.
