‘Talli Ki Vandanam’ for All School-going Children: Nara Lokesh

On the occasion of completing one year in office, the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has delivered good news to mothers of school-going children as the new academic year begins. Nara Lokesh, Minister for Education and Information Technology, announced on Wednesday that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has approved the implementation of the ‘ThalliKi Vandanam’ scheme, which was part of the government’s “Super Six” election promises.
According to Nara Lokesh, under this initiative, financial assistance will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of mothers of eligible students across the state. The scheme is expected to benefit 6,727,164 students, with the government allocating a total of ₹8,745 crore for this purpose.
Lokesh clarified that the scheme applies not only to children newly admitted to Class 1 but also to those joining the first year of Intermediate education. He emphasized that the benefit will extend to all eligible children in a household, regardless of how many are studying.
Extending his congratulations to students and their mothers as the academic year commences, Nara Lokesh stated that the coalition government is steadily fulfilling the promises made under the Super Six framework.
He mentioned that measures have already been taken to implement pension increases, revival of Anna Canteens, announcement of the Mega DSC recruitment, and launch of Deepam-2 schemes. The roll-out of ‘ThalliKi Vandanam’ marks the fulfillment of another key commitment, he said.
