Rajasekhar's daughter Shivani taking part in 'Miss India' pageant

Hyderabad: Shivani, the eldest daughter of film actor Rajasekhar and actress Jeevita, is all set to compete in Miss India (2022) pageant. She disclosed this on Tuesday and said she attended auditions on Monday in connection with the competition. She said that she gave her best performance.

She said that she was embarking on a new journey and sought the blessings of everyone. She thanked Femina for giving her the opportunity. She said best wishes to all the women from across the countries, who are participating in the beauty contest. Many film personalities have congratulated Shivani on competing in the Miss India pageant.

Shivani made her entry into Tollywood with the movie 'Abdutham. She is currently starring in two Tamil films, the Telugu web series 'Aha Na Pellanta'. 

It is surprising that as many women, who are aspiring to foray into films, take part in the Miss India pageant as they feel that it is a stepping stone to get a break in movies. Obviously, after winning the contest many of them entered the tinsel town and tasted success. 

For instance, Sushmita Sen, who won the Miss Universe, still acts in films. The most successful among the lot are Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra, they ruled the roost by acting in many blockbuster movies in Bollywood during their heydays. While Dia Mirza and Diana Hayden of Hyderabad, too, made Hyderabad proud by winning Miss Earth and Miss World pageants. 

So, Shivani's announcement has surprised many as she is taking a reverse path as she is taking part in the Miss India contest after acting in films unlike other beauty queens, who made their debuts in films, only after winning the beauty pageants.
