Four RS seats to be in YSRCP's kitty; many in the race to bag MP seats
Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced the schedule to conduct elections for the 57 vacant Rajya Sabha seats in 15 States, including Telugu states. Of these 57 seats, four belong to Andhra Pradesh. The vacant seats include the YSRCP's parliamentary party leader Venumbaka Vijaya Sai Reddy and BJP MPs Sujana Chaudhary, TG Venkatesh and Suresh Prabhu.
However, elections for the Rajya Sabha seats are slated for June 10. Based on numbers in the Assembly, it will be a cakewalk for the YSRCP and it will bag all four seats. Meanwhile, it would be a difficult task for the party as there are many aspirants, who are expecting the seats.
Attempts by the respective YSRCP leaders to secure these seats have already begun. Although there are only four seats, there are many people in the race for the Rajya Sabha seats. However, there are reports that the party is considering a few names. Among those being considered by the party are Vijay Sai Reddy, Beeda Mastan Rao, R Krishnaiah, Niranjan Reddy and Sunil.
