Madhavan trolled for claiming ISRO used 'Panchangam' for Mars Mission
Chennai: Madhavan is an actor, who has made a name for himself not only in southern languages but also in Bollywood. His latest film is Rocketry. The film is based on the life of famous ISRO scientist Nambi Narayan. The movie starring Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan and star hero Suriya in key roles will be released on July 1 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English. The film crew is attending media conferences as part of the promotions. It is in this context that the comments made by Madhavan are facing the trolls of netizens.
Addressing the media, Madhavan said that when the rocket was launched into space, the 'Panchangam' (Hindu calendar) helped the ISRO to reach orbit around Mars. The Indian Mars mission has overcome the obstacles and reached orbit as ISRO authorities have fixed the date and time by checking the 'Panchangam'. All the positions of the planets are stored in the 'Panchangam', he commented. With this, netizens started trolling him after the video went viral on social media.
“Science' is not something that everyone understands. Not knowing science is not even a big problem. But, instead of talking like this without knowing the real thing, it is better to keep mum, Are you aware of what you are saying? Netizens questioned
“However, Madhavan has recently responded to this trolling. This (trolling) is correct for talking almanac as 'Panchang' in Tamil. How ignorant I am. But, who can change the fact that on the Mars mission we achieved the feat with just two engineers? Was able to create a record of its own. The Vikas engine is a rock star,” Madhavan tweeted.
