Virata Parvam: Sarala’s death accidental, reveals eyewitness ex-Maoist Ganganna
Hyderabad, July 1: Former Maoist Ganganna in an exclusive interview said that he came to know through militants that one Tumu Sarala came searching for him after she got down at Sirnapalli railway station in Nizamabad district. Sarala told them that she was sister of Ganganna, he said and mentioned that militants took good care of her for one month in Sirnapalli.
“I and other naxalites returned to Ramsagar Tanda, near Sirnapalli, after one month. I was told that my sister had come to Sirnapalli to meet me. But I told them that I don’t have any sister,” Ganganna recalled.
On the instructions of top Naxalite leaders including Shankar, he said that Sarala was brought to Ramsagar Tanda. “After asking few questions, we discovered that she was police covert by looking at her knees,” he said.
Ganganna stated that Shankar always carried 9 mm semi-automatic pistol with him. He threatened her to tell the truth pointing pistol towards her. “Sarala tried to protect herself by holding Shankar’s hand. As his finger was on pistol’s trigger, bullet released accidently and pierced through Sarala. She died on the spot,” he explained.
