Chalo Gondireddipalli: Paritala Sunitha, Sriram placed under house arrest
Anantapur, July 9: The police served notices to former minister and TDP leader Paritala Sunitha and Sriram for giving ‘Chalo Gondireddipalli’ call on Saturday to protest fixing of electricity meters to agricultural pumpsets and illegal mining of red clay. In the notices, the cops informed the TDP leaders that gathering of party activists in large number will create law and order problem in the village.
The police placed Sunitha and Sriram under house arrest in Venkatapuram and Anantapur respectively. Both expressed anger over the YSRCP government for not allowing the Opposition party to organise stir in a democratic manner.
Sriram faulted police for bowing to pressure from ruling YSRCP leaders and creating hurdles to the peaceful protest. “We want to Gondireddipalli to console farmers and inspect the area of illegal mining,” he mentioned. The TDP workers raised slogans of ‘CM down down’ while Sriram talking to a reporter in front of his house here.
