ED issues notices to three MLAs and a former MLA in Chekoti Praveen casino case
Hyderabad: Casino organiser Chikoti Praveen Kumar, who hogged the limelight for the wrong reasons, was facing many charges, including hawala transactions. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials intensified the inquiry into Foreign Exchange and Management Act (FEMA) cases registered against Praveen Kumar and his accompice Madhav Reddy for allegedly transporting a huge amount to India through hawala after organising casinos and other illegal activities.
Another key development took place on Friday in Chekoti Praveen’s case, who is appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for allegedly engaging in illegal transactions while playing casino games with celebrities.
As per the details revealed by Chikoti Praveen as part of the investigation, ED has issued notices to three MLAs from Telugu states and a former MLA. Moreover, the ED officials have asked the public representatives in the said notices to attend the hearing on Saturday.
Among the public representatives, who have been issued ED notices are an MLA from AP and a former MLA. It is reported that an MLA from Hyderabad and another MLA from Rangareddy district have been asked to appear for questioning. The names of the MLAs and former MLAs to whom ED notices have served notices have not been revealed.
