Actor Naresh says ticket rates reason for low turnout of audience at theatres
Hyderabad: Some people are of the opinion that since the films flopped consecutively in July, others said that they stopped coming to the theaters due to OTTs. But, movies like ‘Bimbisara’, ‘Karthikeya 2’ and ‘Sita Ramam’ have proved that if there is content, people will come. But, senior actor Naresh says there are other reasons why people are not coming to the theatres.
“It is true that people are not coming to the theatres due to high ticket rates! But that is not the only reason. Once, Pepsi and popcorn were available for Rs 20 and Rs 30. But now, they cost Rs 300. It means that a middle-class family has to spend a total of Rs 2,500 to watch a movie! So why do people come to the theatres? They want a good experience along with a good movie. Think about it," tweeted Naresh.
Soon after that, he tweeted yet again, “I mean.. once upon a time, movies used to play well for a week. But now, no matter how big the movie is, the theatre gets empty on the second day. If the cost in theatres is reduced, people will come to watch movies more often,” he tweeted. Now, these tweets have gone viral on social media.
