Kakinada: Confusion prevails over Kendriya Vidyalaya students falling sick
Kakinada, September 6: Around 30 students studying fifth and sixth standards at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Valasapakala here became unconscious on Tuesday. Immediately, they were rushed to the Government General Hospital (GGH) for treatment. The health condition of all children stated to be normal.
Confusion is prevailing as to why kids fell sick. Some children said that eating chocolates distributed by two students is the reason while others stated they felt uncomfortable in breathing. Meanwhile, Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana spoke to Kakinada District Collector Krithika Shukla over phone and enquired about the incident.
DMHO directed the food safety authorities to conduct tests on chocolates. Even, teachers could not say as to why students complained of breathing difficulty. Parents rushed to the school on hearing the news and took their wards along with them.
Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha and Kakinada Rural MLA K Kannababu visited the GGH and consoled kids and their parents. Kannababu said that a committee constituted to probe the matter and submit its report to the Collector within 24 hours.
