New Telangana Secretariat to be named after BR Ambedkar: KCR
Hyderabad, September 15: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Thursday took a decision to name the newly built Secretariat after Dr BR Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take necessary steps in this regard.
“It is an honour and pride for people of Telangana for naming new Secretariat after Ambedkar,” he stated and added that the Telangana state is progressing forward by taking inspiration from Ambedkar, who championed equality, human rights and social justice.
KCR mentioned that the Government of India granted separate state for Telangana according to Article 3 of the Constitution. “I will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remind him that a resolution was passed in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, appealing to name the new Parliament building after BR Ambedkar,” he said. Meanwhile, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav welcomed the decision of KCR.
