Karthi overwhelmed with success of 'Ponniyin Selvan', shares emotional post

Chennai:  Karthi was overwhelmed with the sensational success of 'Ponniyin Selvan'. He shared his happiness with his fans on the social media platform. Karthi said that he was at a loss for words to describe his feelings.

Acting as Vanthiyethavan was amazing. A big salute to Kalki, who wrote a wonderful novel like 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Mani Ratnam struggled for three years to make this film. He gave an unforgettable experience. Thanks a million for that. Thanks to Ravivarman for giving amazing visuals like never before. Thanks to all the actors, who have played key roles in the film. Thanks also to those who worked as soldiers behind the scenes with love for the film. Finally, thank you to the friends and fans, who have shown love for the movie," Karthi posted on Twitter.

'Ponniyin Selvan' was made on the Cholas, which was shot in two parts. The first part was released recently. Although the movie got mixed reviews, it minted huge collections at the worldwide box office. The movie raked in over Rs 100 crore collections within two days of its release. Mani Ratnam stated that 'Ponniyan Selvan-2' will be released six months to nine months after the release of the first part.

Mani Ratnam's dream project is 'Ponniyin Selvan' produced jointly by Subhaskaran and Madras Talkies under the banner Lyca Productions. The film is based on the novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. 

Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Chiyan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Vikram Prabhu and Prakash Raj played key roles. This movie was made at the Pan India level and released worldwide on September 30.
