Pre-planned attack on ministers, YSRCP leaders: Vizag Police Commissioner
Visakhapatnam, October 24: “Probe has revealed that attack on ministers and YSRCP leaders at airport was pre-planned,” said Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Ch. Srikanth. Talking to reporters here on Sunday, top cop explained to the media that the Jana Sena leaders have informed the police that their president Pawan Kalyan will visit port city on October 13. “But Jana Sena activists were mobilised for unofficial rally and used DJ music without permission,” he mentioned.
Srikanth said that convoys of ministers Roja and Jogi Ramesh, and vehicles of TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and YSRCP leaders were attacked when they reached airport after completion of ‘Visakha Garjana’ rally. “In the attack, Roja’s personal assistant Dilip Kumar and Pendurthi CI Nageswara Rao were injured,” he stated.
The CP said that six cases were registered and 100 accused were arrested so far. “Still, another 82 yet to be arrested,” he briefed the progress of investigation and stated that false rumours are being spread that cops asked Pawan Kalyan to leave Visakhapatnam.
